EARTHWORKS is an exhibition by 6 Malaysian foremost ceramicists, Dr. Shamsu Mohamad, Dr. Salwa Ayob, Roslan Ahmad, Mohamad Radzi Ismail, Tan Vooi Yam, Awangko’ Hamdan Pgn Arshad that challenges the creation of beauty and the arts used the concept of mimesis to critique our everyday lives. They also puts into question whether the value of contemporary ceramic works are at par with assorted other objects from various museum collections. They offer a radical way of overcoming the stigma by examines the taxonomy of contemporary ceramic works of art, whether as merely works of art or as museum objects. Depending on their choice of references or subject matter and techniques processes, these artists have nearly open-up endless options to aid the stigma in creating varied and lasting pieces of ceramic art. EARTHWORKS adalah sebuah pameran yang didokongi enam (6) ahli kraf seramik terkemuka Malaysia iaitu Dr. Shamsu Mohamad, Dr. Salwa Ayob, Roslan Ahmad, Mohamad Radzi Ismail, Tan Vooi Yam dan Awangko’ Hamdan Pgn Arshad. Hasil kerja yang dipamerkan cuba mencabar nukilan keindahan dan kesenian menerusi konsep mimesis untuk mengkritik aktiviti harian warga sejagat. Mereka turut mempersoal sama ada hasil kerja seramik kontemporari bernilai setara dengan lain-lain objek yang dijadikan koleksi muzium. Mereka mengetengah kaedah radikal bagi menyanggah stigma dengan memapar taksonomi hasil kerja seramik kontemporari – sama ada hanya sebagai hasil kerja biasa atau setanding objek pamer muzium. Menerusi hasil kerja masing-masing, berdasarkan penggunaan pilihan rujukan atau subjek tumpuan dan proses teknik, mereka berupaya membuka pelbagai opsyen untuk membantu stigma tersebut bagi mewujudkan kepingan seni seramik yang bervariasi dan berkekalan.
