POHON BUDI: Seeds of Energy from Tree of Life, where Creative Imaginings Abound.

Artworks, couture and object d’arts created entirely from a myriad of natural and sustainable materials to showcase interdisciplinary genres of craft between traditional and contemporary expressions of artists from their environment is the focus of Galeri PETRONAS’ upcoming exhibition entitled POHON BUDI: Seeds of Energy from Tree of Life, where Creative Imaginings Abound.Jointly curated by Edric Ong, President of Society Atelier Sarawak and Senior Vice President of World Crafts Council and Manjari Nirula, Vice President, World Crafts Council Asia-Pacific, the exhibition features over 100 pieces of creative art expressions of established artists from 38 countries, across the African continent, Central Asia, South Asia, Asia Pacific, East Asia, South East Asia, the Americas and Europe. Among them are recipients of the prestigious UNESCO Seal of Excellence Award.Individually hand-crafted from natural and sustainable materials, the fine works of art focus on traditional and contemporary expressions, presenting various genres of art objects ranging from textile, stone, ceramics, metal, glass, wood, paper, bead works and lacquer wares.Translation: Paparan senicipta tradisional dan kontemporari dari pelbagai bahan alam merupakan tumpuan pameran “POHON BUDI: Seeds of Energy from Tree of Life, where Creative Imaginings Abound”, yang menampilkan karya para seniman buat melestarikan persekitaran alam dan budaya mereka akan diadakan di Galeri PETRONAS.Pameran ini menampilkan lebih 100 hasil karya kreatif daripada 38 negara yang merentasi benua Afrika, Asia Tengah, Asia Selatan, Asia Pasifik, Asia Timur, Asia Tenggara, Amerika dan Eropah. Di antaranya adalah karya-karya dari para seniman yang menerima anugerah Seal of Excellence UNESCO. Kurator bersama pameran ialah Edric Ong, Presiden Persatuan Atelier Sarawak yang juga Naib Presiden Majlis Kraf Sedunia dan Manjari Nirula, Naib Presiden, Majlis Kraf Sedunia Asia-Pasifik.Karya-karya halus, hasil buatan tangan yang diperbuat daripada bahan alam ini mengetengahkan pelbagai genre objek seni dari gentian, batu, seramik, logam, kaca, kayu, kertas, manik dan barangan lakuer dalam bentuk-bentuk expresi tradisional dan kontemporari.
