
Projek #tanahairku was originally conceived in 2013 by PETRONAS to celebrate Malaysia’s independence and to emphasise its significance among the youth of the country. The campaign was designed around ‘Tanahair’, a poem by National Laureate, Usman Awang, and kicked off with a newly commissioned song written by renowned composer, Audi Mok.Launched as part of PETRONAS Merdeka & Malaysia Day campaign, Projek #tanahairku 2014 aims to encourage 30 million Malaysians – a unique melting pot of cultures, traditions and heritage – to come together, draw from our strength in diversity and unite towards a common purpose. Projek #tanahairku employs the universal language of art to invite the audience to reflect on how far we have come, and how much we have achieved together as a young nation.For Projek #tanahairku 2014, PETRONAS embarked on a collaboration with 14 street artists to develop and install six new artworks across Kuala Lumpur. The artists were encouraged to express their love for the nation and what independence means to the nation’s youth, and to articulate the Malaysia that they would like to inherit one day.Projek #tanahairku dimulakan oleh PETRONAS pada tahun 2013 sempena menyambut Kemerdekaan Malaysia. Ia adalah wadah untuk golongan muda menghayati erti kemerdekaan.Diilhamkan oleh sajak Tanah Air oleh Sasterawan Negara Usman Awang, komposer tersohor, Audi Mok telah menggubah lagu dengan tajuk yang sama. Projek #tanahairku 2014 dilancarkan sebagai sebahagian daripada kempen Merdeka dan Hari Malaysia dan diharap dapat menyentuh jiwa 30 juta rakyat Malaysia yang terdiri daripada berbilang adat, budaya dan warisan untuk bersatu padu sebagai sebuah masyarakat, dengan hala tuju yang sama.Projek #tanahairku 2014 adalah terjemahan puisi Tanah Air oleh 14 artis hebat melalui seni jalanan di dinding-dinding bangunan sekitar Kuala Lumpur.Setiap artis digalakkan untuk meluahkan rasa cinta mereka terhadap negaradan mentafsir erti kemerdekaan dalam diri generasi muda sebagai warisan padamasa hadapan.
