VISUAL DIALECTS: Cultural Ties That Bind features rarely seen paintings and photographs from the PETRONAS Art Collection, depicting artistic sentimentalism of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.

Exhibition PerspectiveTo a large extent, the indigenous ‘worldview’ is grounded on important ancient stories and symbols. A belief that the world is a symbol of creation and is therefore sacred and must be revered. The world as a sustainer provides continuous resource which exists since time immemorial.

ALEGORI - Contemporary Art Expressions from Malay Manuscripts is GALERI PETRONAS' final exhibition for its 2017 calendar. The Exhibition explores Malay metaphorical thinking through the Malay manuscripts and the artistry of functional objects derived from various disciplines of knowledge that are rudimentary to the Malay holistic view of the world and arguably formed the foundation of the Malay identity.

'JULANG', which means to elevate, raise and honour, calls upon the collective conscience of the nation and its people to uphold the responsibility that comes with independence, and the need to continuously spur the nation to greater heights.

Held in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival 2017 (KLAF2017), the exhibition examines architecture in Malaya during the transformative period of Merdeka and explores the significant relationship between architecture and nation-building. Being the capital of a newly formed nation, Kuala Lumpur underwent significant changes, both in physical form and societal configurations.
